Fishing for Stories

I spent brunch and early dinner with my friend M. We met to discuss further on the project that we’re collaborating on. Truth to be told, we spent more time talking about feminism and sexual politics rather than brainstorming for ideas. We only did the latter during the last half-an-hour of our meeting. Some funny-looking fish and pizzas distracted us in between, by the way.

(Be) Stillness

I’m in a funk today. Be that as it may, I’m thankful for my good friend E. who knows how to nurse my worried heart. I call him my "personal therapist." He calls it "unpaid, voluntary work." I just love his sense of humor.

A Thoughtful Free

The littlest gestures mean the most. For instance, today, my cubicle-mate J. offered me her spicy alfredo pasta for lunch and dinner. It may not be photogenic here but it tasted hot and delectable. J. is hands down the sweetest and most thoughtful colleague you could ever have.

Friendship Ln.

This New Year, I spent time walking down Jonker St. in Malacca with my childhood friend M. We were also there with a few of her friends for a short vacation. We actually met eighteen years ago in school and remained good friends ever since. Together, we shopped in antique stores, received foot massages, made our own ice cream out of Oreos, raspberries and strawberries, and spent hours just talking like good old girlfriends during tea. It was lovely to catch up out of town once in awhile.
